Birds taking flight, like the phoenix rising out of the ashes, these silhouettes are inspired by the form of birds of prey swooping in on their find. Influenced by my daughter to use warm colors, I then found the inspiration to lift this painting off the ground. There is also a hint of the bloodshed inflicted by the hunt. The birds must wait for their prey to come into view, patiently resting in the knowledge that they will be fed. Yes, their Creator will provide.

“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

Teach me, Lord, to wait.
